The ISR Director’s Advisory Committee on Community and Diversity (DACCD) has established an annual award to honor the memory of Vuthy Pen (1974-2013), a long-time associate and esteemed Senior Programmer Analyst at the Institute for Social Research. The ISR Vuthy Pen Recognition Award will be awarded annually at the ISR Celebration of Excellence, or similar ISR-wide event, during the fall semester.
This award is intended to recognize individuals who make a difference in the lives and/or work environment of their colleagues by facilitating cooperation, commitment to service, and positive interactions. The cash award will be in the amount of $500 (after withholding).
All ISR personnel with at least one year of employment at the Institute – including regular, temporary, and contingent staff; faculty; and student employees – are eligible for nomination.
Employees who wish to nominate a co-worker must submit a statement that expresses how the selected individual exemplifies the qualities that made Vuthy such a joy to work with during his time at ISR. Those include (but are not limited to):
- Making a difference in the lives and/or work environment of your colleagues
