US Representative Debbie Dingell enters ISR’s 75th anniversary into the Congressional Record

ANN ARBOR — U.S. Representative Debbie Dingell read a statement honoring the Institute for Social Research (ISR) into the Congressional Record on Friday, October 15, 2024 in recognition of ISR’s 75th anniversary.

“As one of the world’s largest and oldest academic survey research organizations, the ISR has paved the way for modern social science methods across the Globe,” she said. “Their work is worthy of recognition.”

Dingell went on to praise ISR’s longstanding commitment to social science in the public interest, recognizing the significant contributions ISR has made to the advancement of many different academic disciplines, including “governance, economics, demographics, inequality, health, and sustainability.”

“Their dedication to continually improving the rigor  of the social sciences has made an everlasting impact across Ann Arbor, Michigan, the United States, and the world,” Dingell concluded. “Their educational and training programs have influenced the social sciences everywhere.  Thousands of researchers who work around the country have had training at ISR, and they produce high-quality studies on the full spectrum of human behavior. ISRs impact cannot be overstated, and their work should be celebrated.”
