BIO

Charlie Brown's research interests include a range of predominantly empirical questions about labor markets. Many of these questions involve the impacts of government policies, such as minimum wage laws, equal employment opportunity programs, and the all-volunteer military. His past research has focused on topics such as compensating differentials, effects of minimum wage laws and of EEO policies, the determinants of enlistment and re-enlistment in the military, and the relationship between employer size and labor market outcomes. He is also the Director of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics and a Co-Investigator with the Health and Retirement Study.
