Assessing Public Engagement in the Arab World: The Fifth Wave of the Arab Barometer
Since the Arab Spring uprisings, observers have noticed that citizens across the region are reporting more corruption and/or perceptions of corruption. However, it is unclear whether these reports are increasing because (a) corruption is increasing, or (b) people now feel freer to note their true perceptions of corruption. Our project aims both to investigate these trends and to train local scholars in advanced research methods through developing their own investigative questions.
