Early this year, ICPSR Acquisitions Director Amy Pienta conducted a webinar on creating a data management plan, and more than 500 researchers from all over the world participated. “Data management plans are now a hot topic among the research community,” said Pienta, noting that the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health now require such plans as part of grant applications on projects that will produce data.
