BIO

Alexander Rodríguez is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan College of Engineering and an affiliate of the Research Center for Group Dynamics at the Institute for Social Research.

His group’s work advances AI methods for modeling complex spatiotemporal dynamics to support data-driven decision-making. This research addresses problems at the intersection of machine learning, time series analysis, scientific modeling (AI for science), uncertainty quantification, and multi-agent systems, with primary applications in health sciences and engineering.

Alex’s research interests include machine learning, time series, multi-agent systems, uncertainty quantification, and scientific modeling. His recent focus is on developing trustworthy AI systems that can offer insightful guidance for critical decisions, especially in applications involving complex spatiotemporal dynamics. His work is primarily motivated by real-world problems in public health, environmental health and community resilience.
