Tradeoffs Between the Equal and Equitable Distribution of a Scarce Health Resource: Evidence from a Large Randomized Natural Experiment with Targeting by Health, Social Vulnerability, and Race

Life-saving health resources such as vaccines and monoclonal antibodies often suffer from scarce supply. We use economics to analyze the randomization of early access to scarce COVID-19 Vaccines through Michigan Medicine, producing evidence-based guidance on how to navigate the tradeoffs in distributing scarce resources.
